In 1987, Radio Morena introduced a new kind of programming which has continued to be a huge success ever since. It is aired six or seven times each day and features a sequence of three tracks from the same genre. In this way, the appreciation of the public for new and exciting music is greatly enhanced. The principal genres are summarized below:
Axé Bahia
This Mini-Prog was responsible for naming the new kind of music which was just being born in the state of Bahia in 1988. The Axe Music is a very danceable genre with a strong drum base.
Tri-Laser Brasil
Here you will find three tracks from the most recent Brazilian Jazz discs, such as those of Tom Jobim and Caetano Veloso. They may also be selected from Grapiuna Music, which is a variation of Brazilian Jazz.
Gente Grapiuna
A Mini-Prog featuring the best Grapiuna Music, the music made in the South of Bahia state. It's based on brazilian jazz with some regional flair.
Expresso Mix
This will feature three tracks from mainstream international pop music. They will come mainly from Europe, Australia, Canada and the United States.
Alma Latina
Most of the Latin Pop tracks heard in this segment were sent exclusively to Morena in Brazil. This innovative presentation was the first of its kind to be heard on national radio, introduced in 1992.
Xamego Da Morena
This MiniProg offers three tracks from the Forro genre, a very popular and danceable favorite from Brazil's NorthEast.
Lançamento 98
New releases are spotlighted during this MiniProg segment. They come mainly from International and Latin sources. We are proud to be ahead of all of the other stations in Brazil in offering these tracks.
